Ingredients for Turkish Borek

  • Butter
  • Onions
  • Potatoes
  • Calin smoked cheese
  • Calin mozzarella cheese
  • Aleppo Pepper
  • Salt and pepper
  • Borek dough
  • Eggs
  • vegetable oil
  • Strained Yogurt
  • Water
  • Sesame
  • Black seeds
  • Thyme
  • Garlic powder

Step 1:

The first thing to do is to cut the onions and then the mushrooms. Then after cooking, we grate the potatoes and keep them aside.

Step 2:

Fry the onion and then add the mushrooms to the onion and fry it, too.

Now, we add thyme and garlic powder to the mixture of roasted mushrooms and onions and stir until the mixture gets a good flavor.

We add pepper, salt, and Aleppo pepper to the grated potatoes.

Then, we add the roasted mushrooms and onions to the potatoes and mix the ingredients well.

Step 3:

In the next step, we mix egg yolk, yogurt, and a little water and then, spread this mixture on the dough until the Borek dough is soft.

Step 4:

Now, we pour the prepared ingredients onto the dough and add Calin mozzarella and smoked cheese to it. Calin smoked cheese gives a special aroma to the dish.

We roll the dough slowly on the ingredients and then cut the top and bottom of the dough.

Step 5:

We put all the dough in the container and then we mix the egg and melted butter and apply it to the bread.

Now, Pour sesame and black seeds on the borek.

Step 5:

Put the Borek in the oven at 180 degrees Celsius for about 30 minutes until they are completely golden.
